KS1 (Years 1 and 2): these resources are a sequence of lessons focusing on the theme of Botanical Art, specifically within painting. We explore the history of botanical art, famous artists who created paintings and drawings of flowers or plants, what we like/dislike about their work and how it makes us feel. We then move onto experimenting with different media and planning and creating our own botanical art.
KS2 (Years 3 to 6): a sequence of lessons focusing on Sculpture. We explore what sculpture is and what the four basic processes of sculpting are. We learn about a range of artists who create sculptures, experiment with a range of materials to create different shapes and then produce a piece of sculpting artwork to display in the classroom.

Black British History
The teaching resources in this section help children understand how Black history is a vital part of Britain’s history. Knowledge of this history helps connect with, and understand, Great Britain today. A series of lessons has been written by Professor David Olusoga and his sister Dr Yinka Olusoga, taking children on a journey through key historical periods of our past.
The introductory lesson provides the starting point of our journey, before we move onto the Romans, Tudors, Stuarts, Early Georgians, Late Georgians, Victorians and then into the 20th Century with the First and Second World Wars, then Windrush and beyond. These high quality resources will help you enhance engagement and implement a rich and diverse curriculum in your classroom. Resources are designed for KS2 students plus also some for KS1.

These beautifully-illustrated PowerPoints will save you considerable preparation time, as the resources take children step by step through the teaching sequence from reading to writing. Each year group has three resources: fiction, non-fiction and poetry, with the same theme threaded through all three units of work.

PSHE
Don’t be Fooled is a collaboration between UK Finance and Cifas. It aims to inform young people about the risks of giving out their bank details, and deter them from becoming money mules. A money mule is someone who receives stolen money into their bank account and transfers it into another account, keeping some of the cash for themselves. Criminals need money mules to launder the profits of their crimes, and are increasingly targeting young people. Being a money mule is illegal.
